The Author
Andrew P. Garrett received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University in Economics. His Master of Management degree in Finance was from the J. L.. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern. His Doctor of Medicine Degree is from The University of Connecticut.
Though he never took a computer programming class, he paid his way through both undergraduate and graduate schools by programming computers. He continued to earn a living by programming for several years after graduating. He then worked for a number of years in Corporate Finance before returning to school to earn his doctorate. After completing his residency in Internal Medicine, he has worked as a primary care doctor, sharing a practice with his wife, Marjorie.
Currently he lives deep in the woods of New England with Marjorie. For now, the only livestock they have are chickens, but they keep thinking about acquiring some milking goats and maybe a donkey - maybe after they retire. They try to live as sustainably as is reasonable by gardening, hunting, maple syrup production, and living in an entirely off-grid house electrified with solar panels and heated by wood harvested from the property.
